HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDNET SERIES
EAST REGIONALS REGISTRATION PAGE
OCTOBER 19, 2019 BUFFALO, NY
The sport of roundnet, aka Spikeball™, has taken off over the last few years. ESPN, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, local parks and beaches, or backyard barbecues, are just a few places you can find people playing the sport we all love.
Just like every sport, the future lies with our youth and Spikeball™ is no different. Sure, youth players can play in local tournaments with players of all ages, but until now they haven’t had a tournament to call their own where the best high school players in the country compete against one another.
The next Tyler Cisek, Peter Jon Showalter or Preston Bies are at their local high school sitting in study hall and don’t even realize they have the nastiest cut serve or tweener in the game, and that’s a crime against humanity.
Leading up to Nationals in June 2020, we will host 4 fall regional contests in the Fall of 2019 and 4 spring regional contests in the Spring of 2020. The top 3 teams from each of the 8 regional contests will earn a Power Pool invite to the Roundnet High School Nationals in the Summer of 2020 (location TBD).

Format
You will start the day with pool play. You will be randomly drawn into a pool of other teams. Ideally we will have smaller pools of 5-6 teams so games can be to 21, however we may have to do pools of 7-8 with games to 15 depending on the total number of teams. Then based on pool play results, you will be seeded into a bracket.
Bracket matches will be best 2 out of 3 series with games to 21. The bracket will be played out until we have a winner. If you lose your 1st bracket match, you will be placed into a consolation bracket so everyone is guaranteed at least 2 matches.
*Format is subject to change at TDs discretion based on number of teams, time, etc.
Rules
If you are unfamiliar with the rules of competitive Roundnet in 2019, here is a link to them: https://tournaments.spikeball.com/pages/official-rules-1
*Note: there were some changes for the 2019 season, most notably double faults now being allowed(rule #4.5.2). What that means is if you miss your 1st serve, you get a 2nd serve as opposed to the old rule where 2nd serves were only given after a pocket and a missed 1st serve resulted in a loss of the point.
FAQs
*What if the weather is bad?
Our plan is to play outdoors with an indoor field as a backup plan. Any updates will be communicated through email and on social media.
*Can players from different schools play together?
No, both players must be from the same school in order to promote more club growth at each school. This is going to be standard across all the ARRO high school events
*Can Jr High students participate?
Yes! Anyone in Jr High School or High School can play in this and all the other ARRO High School tournaments
*Can there be more than 2 players on a team?
No. We only allow 2 players per team because stamina becomes a factor in the later rounds of the tournament
*My team can no longer attend. Can I get refunded?
Yes, we will fully refund you as long as the request is made before registration closes for the tournament. If you need to request a refund, send an email to [email protected] and be sure to mention your name and your team’s name.
